About Sarah

Sarah MussonSarah Musson is a native of Dayton, Ohio. Her interest in photography started early on in her life; when she received her first “point & shoot” camera. She aspired from that young age to become a Great Photographer.

Sarah started out her career as a sales associate at JCPenny portrait studio. Under the tutelage of a wonderful management team she learned the basics of posing and the trade. After a short three years she climbed the ladder within that studio to become the Assistant Manager. Then her path lead her to be the Manager of the Sears Portrait studio. Here is where she truly had the freedom to explore not only the business but the needs of the many differing patrons. It was impressed upon her at this stage that within the confines of the studio not all the needs of the clients were met. The idea of “packages” did suit a few people, but on the larger scale did not do justice to their individual needs. Also the idea of one -on- one attention was held by the way side because it was our jobs to be the receptionist, photographer and the sales associate.

This all to say that: a lot was learned from and brought into the way she then constructed her Own Business.

At this point in her life she was married to an adoring husband & pregnant with her first child. This child brought a lot of excitement, anticipation, and change into their lives (as most children do). She came to a fork in the road.

Option 1) Have a baby; and continue at the job that you love (putting her in day-care).
Option 2) Have a baby; and be a stay-at-home mommy (but lose a big part of yourself).

Option 1 & Option 2 were both unacceptable for her. Option one was not what she wanted for their baby. It is her opinion that God put her here for a reason… to be a wife & mommy (first), and to be for herself second. So she decided to be the at-home-mommy with the privilege of taking pictures of family, friend(s) and an occasional wedding here and there on the side. After about a year this side “job” was growing to become a regular source of income, with a lot of personal referrals and returning clients. It was then that her husband said to her, “You should just go down and get your business license and make it official. It’s obvious that you love what your doing,, and they love you. So do it already!” Now if you were to ask her; it was all a very good happenstance. She did as she was instructed; and with the help of Gods divine help and her loving family she got her business license and opened shop.

Truly Blessed is how Sarah would refer to herself. Her studio is located off of Newberry Hill in Silverdale, WA.. If the session is called to be outdoors, the studio & or Sarah is more than happy to make it for you special place and time. The camera Sarah shoots with is a NikonD2X. It is a pleasure for her to Capture your priceless moments of joy on such a beautiful piece of equipment.

The way that Sarah has constructed her business is with the clients needs at the forefront. “Packages” are only used in scenarios that they are the best for your needs (i.e. sports team pictures, dance portraits, etc…). In all other situations A La Carte Pricing is put into effect. This is so that the clients individual needs are met in any size and on any picture.
